About Us

We are a cluster of students from the Department of Chemical Engineering running the non-profit organization called the American Institute of Chemical Engineers Gujarat State Fertilizers and Chemicals University Student Chapter. AIChE GSFCU Student Chapter provides a platform where you can grow through professional programs, amalgamation with other student chapters across the globe and consortium of professional members. We serve as a liaison between the parent body, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and the chapter members to promote the professional development of our chapter by its programs and its relations with other homogeneous incessant student chapters. We contend to aggrandize better awareness of the nature of the chemical engineering profession among current and prospective members. We strive to leverage the professional code of conduct and strengthen the relations amongst each one of us. We endeavor to enhance collaboration with different organizations from different areas and with chapters envisaged with the same ethos across the globe.

 

Our Student Chapter

The student chapter focuses on upliftment of its members in its professional growth. Being a member of the chapter opens the door to a whole new world of chemical engineering. The chapter members are given opportunities to serve the chapter by holding different positions or serve AIChE as a leader globally. Student chapter provides a platform for enhancement of his/her resume, unleash the true potential in inner self, develop a professional code of conduct, grow a chemE network, educational and technical resources, chance to participate in regional and international conferences, eligibility to chapter awards and AIChE sponsored awards. Students from all the streams are invited here as the chapter is proficient in providing cross-disciplinary space to spread the grassroots of one's interest. Joining the student chapter will unlock the capricious benefits provided by AIChE to the undergraduates.

Some of the initiatives of AIChE, our student chapter gravitates to instil in its members for professional development are:

  • K-12 Outreach Program: An initiative to induce STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) learning to students from kindergarten to 12th standard by doing outreaches and by developing modules related to STEM.
  • Sister Chapter Program: A formalized partnership between two student chapters internationally. AIChE GSFCU SC is a sister chapter (official partners) with AIChE UTEC situation at Lima, Peru.
  • Chem-E-Car: A foot size automated rover propelled and stopped by chemical reactions.
  • Community Service Program: An initiative to give back to the community. Our chapter believes in holistic development of members, developing empathy in members towards the community and working for the betterment of the community.

  • Runner Up for the Chem-E-Car competition in AIChE-SRC 2021

  • Tirth Patel won The Sophomore Academic Excellence Award 2021-2022
  • Zalak Patel won The Donald F. Othmer Second Year Academic Excellence Award 2022-2023
