Dr. Vijay Kumar Saraswat, is one of India's most eminent defence scientists and science policy leaders, with over four decades of distinguished service in defence research, strategic technologies, and national innovation. A former Member of NITI Aayog, former Secretary, Department of Defence R&D and former Director General of DRDO, he led the indigenous development of key missile systems, including PRITHVI, AGNI, PRAHAR, and DHANUSH, and played a vital role in the induction of LCA TEJAS into the Indian Air Force. At NITI Aayog, he spearheaded national initiatives in Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Technology, Cyber-Physical Systems and Energy Security. A recipient of the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan , Dr. Saraswat currently serves as Chancellor of Graphic Era University, Distinguished Professor at IIT Hyderabad and IIT Roorkee, and Chairman of leading national technology councils. He has also been conferred more than 27 honorary doctorates for his exceptional contributions to science and technology.
